Psalm 46:10

HALF-TIME (Rules in Football)

The Christian life is like football—it requires discipline, timing, and perseverance. At half-time, pause to reflect, trust God's plan, repent where needed, choose godly companions, rise above setbacks, and finish the year stronger through His grace.

Psalm 46:10— Key Passage

Psalm 46:10

Introduction

Football is a game governed by rules, discipline, teamwork, and strategy. Likewise, the Christian life has principles that guide believers toward victory. As we enter the second half of the year, God calls us to pause, evaluate our progress, make necessary adjustments, and finish the race stronger than we began.

OFFSIDE POSITION

An offside position occurs when a player moves ahead of play before the right time, seeking an unfair advantage. Spiritually, God desires His children to walk in His timing.

• Remain where God has planted you until He directs you.

• Never run ahead of God's timing.

• Avoid shortcuts.

• Depend on God.

• Wait patiently for God's promotion.

HALF-TIME

Psalm 46:10

"Be still, and know that I am God..."

• Stop striving when God tells you to wait.

• Trust God's control.

• Use quiet moments to hear God's voice.

• Rest is part of God's strategy.

• The second half can be better than the first.

SCORECARD

Lamentations 3:40

"Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord."

• Examine your spiritual life.

• Celebrate victories.

• Identify areas for improvement.

• Repent where necessary.

• Keep a record of God's faithfulness.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT COMPANY

Proverbs 13:20

"Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm."

• Surround yourself with godly people.

• Redeem the remaining time wisely.

• Never quit.

STAND UP FOR THE SECOND HALF

Isaiah 52:2

"Shake off your dust; rise up..."

• Rise above disappointments.

• Break limitations through faith.

• Develop new skills.

• Trust God for greater achievements.

EVEN AFTER A RED CARD, GOD SHOWS MERCY

1 John 1:9

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just..."

• God's mercy is greater than your failures.

• Genuine repentance restores.

• God's grace gives another opportunity.

CONCLUSION

The God who kept you in the first half of the year will lead you to victory in the second half.

Closing Scripture

Philippians 1:6

"Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will carry it on to completion..."
